Communications Liason

Gabrielle Ione Hickmon is a writer, researcher, and cultural worker. Her practice is concerned with the intersections of culture, place, Black life, and technology. Her writing has appeared in Condé Nast Traveler, The Baffler, The Pudding, Literary Hub, and elsewhere. Gabrielle has also published in the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning and Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement. Gabrielle holds a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and an MSEd in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania. Gabrielle serves as the communications liaison for Tourism RESET where she translates academic articles into informed commentary for major travel news and media outlets. She is currently based in Ypsilanti, MI.
